                                      Presented by Josh Hirt, CFA

    Review current economic and investment trends and their potential risks and implications for the economy, the markets, and your clients. This session also looks at risks to economic growth and at the labor market,monetary policy, and inflation.

    About the Speaker:  Josh Hirt, CFA, is an economist in Vanguard Investment Strategy Group. He has coauthored research on topics including the global economy, capital markets, and portfolio construction. He helps develop Vanguard's economic and market outlook with a focus on U.S. growth components. Previously, Mr. Hirt was an analyst in Vanguard Fixed Income Group with the Municipal Bond desk, responsible for analysis related to the municipal bond market and risk positioning for Vanguard’s national and state-specific municipal bond funds. Mr. Hirt earned a B.A. from Liberty University and is a CFA® charterholder.

    So much has happened in the last year – COVID, racial unrest, natural disasters like wildfires and hurricanes, and intense political turmoil. Stress and anxiety are through the roof, and clients look to their advisors for support and answers. In this session, learn the scientific basis for your clients’ emotional reactions. Discover several key communication skills to employ in times of crisis and unrest, plus two essential documents to encourage clients to complete. Educate yourself on proven expression and self-care techniques that help you, your family, and your clients cope and stay sane through it all, and wrap it all up with a bit of inspiration to send you into the coming year.

    • Understand your clients' emotional responses
    • Gain practical skills in communicating with clients in these emotional times in ways that support them while building loyalty and trust.

    About the Speaker: Amy Florian, CEO of Corgenius, combines the best of neuroscience and psychology with a good dose of humor in training professionals to build strong relationships with clients through all the losses and transitions of life.

    An acclaimed speaker and expert, she is author of over 200 articles and two award-winning books, including the financial advisor’s guidebook titled “No Longer Awkward: Communicating with Clients through the Toughest Times of Life”.                                             Coaching Skills for Financial Professionals

                                           Presented by Saundra Davis, MSFP, APFC, FBS
                                           Executive Director, Sage Financial Solutions

    Using hands-on techniques and demonstrations, Saundra will give participants a chance to experience first-hand what a coaching session can look and feel like for clients.

    Program attendees will have the opportunity to learn these core objectives and put them into practice. They will also have time to review what they have learned and make note of areas where improvement is needed:

    • Knowing When to Listen to Your Clients and When to Talk
    • The Continuum of Financial Care and Its Parts
    • Using Powerful & Stimulating Questions
    • Taking Action as a Coach, the Coaching Philosophy, and role of a Coach
    • Take the core essentials of financial coaching and put them into practice
    • The Strengths and Challenges of Coaching


    About the Speaker: Saundra Davis, MSFP, FFC®, FBS® is a US Navy veteran, money mentor, and nationally recognized speaker, educator, and consultant. She holds a B.S. in Management and an M.S. in Financial Planning from Golden Gate University (GGU). Saundra is the Founder and Executive Director of Sage Financial Solutions, a San Francisco Bay Area-based organization that develops comprehensive financial capability programs for groups and individuals. She has been an active proponent of building a more inclusive financial planning community and has served on the Financial Planning Association, local and national, pro bono and diversity committees. She is also a founding member of the Financial Therapy Association and a member of the International Coach Federation.

    Saundra holds a B.S. in Management and an M.S. in Financial Planning from Golden Gate University where she is currently a Distinguished Adjunct Professor in the Personal Financial Planning program.
